Shipping sign BPR H.1a
Kilometer indication
A kilometer sign must be executed as a white sign with black numbers. The number type to be used is in accordance with the Rijkswaterstaat alphabet. The waterways are divided into 4 waterway groups according to water level width as an aid to choosing the correct sign size. The signs must be placed parallel to the axis of the waterway. The mileage runs from source to sea or from high to low canal building.
